“That was unfortunate. That was kind of an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was entirely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect finger,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently done. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
